Simple Breathing Exercises For Health, Well Being & Stress Managment
Yoga breathing exercises are an excellent way of stilling the mind and bringing balance to the emotions. If you have had a stressful day or have anxiety then practicing breathing techniques can be very useful for bringing more calm and relaxation into your life.
The following videos are based on the yoga breathing exercises pranayama. Pranayama is essentially a set of breathing exercises and form one of the five principles of Yoga.
When practicing these exercises it is useful to follow these guidelines:
• Make sure your back is straight
• Allow your shoulders to be relaxed
• Be in a place where you won't be disturbed for 5-10 minutes
• Turn your mobile off or to silent
• Be gentle with yourself - if you need to take shorter breaths or stop then do so - always go at your own speed
• Take your time - watch the videos a few times over to learn how to do it then practice without them.
Performing and practicing these exercises on a daily basis can help give rise to:
• Reduction in stress levels
• Lowering blood pressure
• Ease in getting to sleep
